Charges Pending in Thanksgiving Day Automobile Accident
A recent article by Big Country News stated that a woman who was involved in a car crash that injured seven people on Thanksgiving Day may have been intoxicated and could be facing charges of Intoxication Assault and/or Injury to a Child. These charges are hinging on the results of the investigation and lab tests that are in the process of being done. Catherine Randolph, who was one of the seven injured people, was driving a pickup with two passengers. Police said that Randolph failed to control the speed of the truck and hit the back of a sports utility vehicle that had stopped at a red light. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 36 and Loop 322 at around 1 in the afternoon. A press release stated that there was no evidence of braking before the impact.
The two passengers that were in the truck with Randolph received minor injuries and had already been released from the hospital. The four passengers of the SUV, two adults, and two juveniles, were harmed in the accident, as well. According to police reports, one of the adults and one of the minors has been released from the hospital. However, the other victims are in serious condition.
