Major Accident at Intersection
San Angelo live reported on March 15, 2018, that a driver of a white pickup truck ran a red light, and barely missed an 18 wheeler that was traveling across the intersection of SH 137 but struck another pickup. The white pickup T-boned the other truck and borrowed across all the lanes then hitting another 18 wheeler waiting at the light. Allegedly the person that caused the accident quickly jumped into another vehicle and fled the scene. This allegation has not been confirmed by law enforcement but is just the report of an eyewitness at the scene of the accident. It appears that the primary problem is that this is a long straightaway with the speed limit of 75 miles per hour. So it may be a dangerous situation where cars come on a red light traveling too fast.
Dangerous Intersections
This situation isn’t unique. There are many intersections and strips of roads all across our state that are very dangerous. Many of these intersections or pieces of highways are infamous to locals. Unfortunately, several unsuspecting travelers have no idea the danger they’re in as they’re approaching these intersections. This danger can make for a very volatile situation because it not only puts the locals that are aware of the threat at risk but also the unsuspecting driver.
