Woman Killed in Auto Accident on Highway 277
According to an article by The Abilene Reporter-News, an automotive accident occurred Saturday, September 2nd, around 9:25 at night. The accident involved two drivers from Abilene, 32-year-old Sarah Katherine Garcia and Marcus Torres. A report from the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that Garcia was driving south down Highway 277, approximately half a mile south of Abilene, when Torres’s vehicle crossed over into her lane. Also, according to the report, Garcia was not wearing her seat belt and was killed in the crash. Torres was wearing his seat belt and was treated for minor injuries and eventually released. No indication was given about why Torres crossed her lane while driving northbound; however, it was noted that the road was wet. Investigators of the crash may release more information on the accident as they finish their investigation.
